KGP ka Tempo! - Repeat Telecast

***************************************************************************************************************************

My son, Sonoo, who took two precious degrees from IIT KGP way back in 2004, has kept the flag of KGP flying high this evening.

Over the past few years he has been accumulating the 4500 hours of leading and directing projects in IT that enabled him to write the Exam for PMP Certification awarded by PMI (Project Management Institute).

And for the past two months he has been going through the drill of preparing for the exam and taking mock tests that recalled to me the tension of IIT JEE that he went through in 1999.

And he cracked the sweaty 4-hour-200question-test topping in all its 5 domains.

Much credit goes to his wife Sailaja and daughter Ishani and their supportive extended family. And the best wishes and guidance of friends and colleagues and the blessings of his fond mom.

It all goes back to the IIT KGP Physics couple Anu and Subash who started an IT company in Hyderabad after acquiring their professional degrees in the US. And they welcomed my son, their junior by a decade, with open arms and trained him for over 7 years like no one else would have.

Here is what PMP is all about:

"PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP)® credential is the most important industry-recognized certification for project managers. Globally recognized and demanded, the PMP®demonstrates that you have the experience, education and competency to lead and direct projects.

This recognition is seen through increased marketability to employers and higher salary; according to the PMI Project Management Salary Survey–Seventh Edition, certification positively impacts project manager salaries."
