More than three years ago I had blogged the story of two ladies whose most unlikely friendship was fostered by their singleton kid-sons:

Here is a 2.5-decade-old vignette of the two ladies, Sanju Auntie and Sonoor-ma:
The picture was recently sent by Sanju, now in California, on hearing the news of his Sonoor-ma's passing away.
I guess you can figure out who is who between the Bengali and the AP ladies.
The kid in the pic is Preeti, the second daughter of Late Professor R. S. Saraswat. She is a classmate of my son, Sonoo, and is now, like him, a senior software pro in Noida.
How time flies...while I remain staunchly static!
