Blondie

************************************************************************************************************

Around 1990, I started subscribing to The Telegraph (Calcutta) dropping The Statesman. MJA was its editor then and he made it lovable.

One day in the Canteen at IIT KGP we were discussing the pleasing features of the daily and Prof STH Abidi asked me what were my favorite cartoon strips in it. And I mentioned: Beetle Bailey, Lockhorns, and of course Dennis.

And I asked him what were his.

And he replied: 'Blondie'

This was one cartoon strip I never read since its hero had a weird hairdo.

But then on I started reading it and got hooked.

Nowadays I open the DC Supplement's Coffee Break Page mainly to read Blondie (and do Jumble in the head).

I tried to figure out why. And came to the conclusion that it had an abundance of the Feel-Good Factor.

And when I started reading 'Feynman's Letters' (gifted to me by Supratim) I discovered Feynman was also a fan of Blondie and Dagwood as far back in time as 1944.

Didn't know Blondie was that old...
