Long Leave

Cataract...cataract...cataract...

The first I heard of cataract was in the English text book in my school final. It referred to a majestic waterfall over a precipice. The word 'cataract' must be onomatopoeic...it does sound like a rocky waterfall...

But the one I have been neglecting for the past 8 years has nothing to do with waterfalls...it is the increasing opacity of my inner eye lens.

Finally the doctors threatened that any day the lens may break and that would lead to an emergency surgery with little hope of recovery of vision.

So the die is cast. Very soon I will be at the mercy of the eye specialist who prescribed a hell of a lot of precautions and postcautions...no bathing, no reading, no blogging, no TV viewing, no driving, no exposure to Hyderabad's dusty streets for as long as possible.

A veritable confinement...

Sigh!

See you in due course in the blogosphere.
