Sir:
While thanking you for the beautiful editorial page article by Inder Malhotra (27 May), let me add a point not covered there: Nehru was a great scholar, who wrote several books for young Indians: in particular, 'Glimpses of World History' (written entirely in prison). A 1400- page closely printed tome, it may not be acknowledged as a masterpiece by professional historians, but serves as an eminently readable 'Glimpse' to the present generation of Indian children whose curriculum is woefully inadequate in the essentials of history. We are what we are as our history made us.
