===========================================================
It has been a truly hectic 3-months. About 100 posts, one a day on the average.
Time to punch the "Pause / Stop" Button.
I thought I should pick up about 20 favorite posts of mine and bring out a thin booklet titled: "Granpa's Tall Tales" mostly for my non-physics, non-web-savvy folks.
And I thought I should take this opportunity to try and mention all those who kindly kept in touch with me and my blog pieces post-retirement.
So, here is the proposed Preface titled: "Kind Words & Coronets" followed by "Contents".
Your suggestions are most welcome!
Most of the Doctorates recognized (or awarded) by me in what follows are in the field of "Literature Appreciation": "Ph. D. (LA)"

Kind Words & Coronets
**************************************************************************
A story-teller may be blind and dumb, but not deaf…….to praise.
By and large a few kind words cost little but spread a lot of goodwill.
Plucking a few apt words from here and there and stitching them into a daisy chain is as harmless a pastime as any for me.
For their kind words and much else besides, I am indebted, in a rough inflexible birth-right-order to:

PoLtS has left a new comment on your post "My Swan Song / Duck Quack":
Dear Prof Sastry:
How about throwing in a couple more?
Thermodynamics & Marital Bliss
The one defending laziness

Some goof-up there! This Post has NOT been deleted by the author.
Thanx for the comment.
'In Praise of Laziness' has already been included in the earlier Compilation titled: 'Woolgathering'.
'Thermodynamics and Marital Bliss' has been framed and kept in his bedroom by a String Theorist turned Banker (not that Indra!), if I remember correctly. Inclusion of such bedroom material (like my earlier blogpost:'Physics of Sex')has already been dubbed 'indecent' by an earlier reader dedicated to Tagore, soul and body. I wouldn't have been here but for 'Thermodynamics' (Reciprocating Engines, referred to by Thurber in one of his pieces titled: 'Sex Ex Machina') or for that matter, 'Marital Bliss'; I don't know about others...gps
Dear Sir,
If you could just convert yourself into a degree granting Institution (officially) using but a little of your immense clout- I could claim the fulfillment of a life long ambition of becoming a Ph.D .....
then I could retire from everything else and become a woolgatherer.
Congratulations to each other among a few of those you decorated with the 'Dr.' have been exchanged all right but still without a diploma in Hand....it's cumbersome to refer everybody to a website to prove my claim.
