It is six months back, by date, that my wife Rukmini breathed her last in the ICU where she stayed for six days.
'Breathed her last' is the 'word perfect'. As one after the other her vital organs were failing irreparably and she was sinking into coma, the question was put to me and my son if we wanted her to be kept under ventilator support (indefinitely).
We looked at each other and said a unanimous "No!"
There was no hope of her revival, and she has seen whoever she wanted to see in her last days, and vice versa.
The Cancer Specialist who was treating her nicely for three years agreed and said:
"She is under oxygen mask and this will be a peaceful end"
Many others were sympathetic and said we decided 'wisely'...that perhaps was not the word perfect...I would replace it with: 'kindly'
As she wished, I stayed with my blogging before and after her passing away. Daily blogging is a 24x7 activity that kept me busy.
But there came a day when I wanted to come to terms with the loss of my life-partner all by myself without any blog-support.
And found, after a full month, that I can't.
That perhaps is the best tribute I can give her...and I returned to my mindless blogging, thank you all!
A Family Moment
